Reviews From Dads
Sarah went far beyond our greatest expectations for a doula. Her support was very comprehensive before the birth, she readily provided us with any helpful information we needed. During labour she was a wonderful, loving advocate and coach. Sarah also has offered her caring support after the birth. Thank you.

Sarah was awesome, and I would highly recommend her to anyone.... We could not have done it without you.

We took prenatal classes, but they didn't even come close to preparing us the way you did. The breastfeeding session especially was helpful. Thanks for everything Sarah. First time parents
I didn't know what a Doula was until my wife and I met Sarah through a mutual friend. My wife quickly decided that she would like to have Doula care if she ever became pregnant. Before long our dream came true, she was pregnant, and hadn't forgotten about Sarah. When we found out the cost of having a Doula, it just about knocked the wind out of me. (*Our medical care was provided by Quinte Midwives. Midwifery is fully funded by the Ontario Government) I was a full time student with a part time job and Naomi would soon be on maternity leave. Doula care would be expensive for us and difficult to pay for. But, knowing what my wife was about to go through over the next nine months (not to mention the big day itself), who was I to deny her? I honestly was not convinced that it was worth the money, except for the fact that it would give Naomi some peace of mind.
I must say, I was very impressed with how much care Sarah gave to Naomi. She was a wealth of information and pointed us to many other valuable sources. As the months went on, I learned how much time Sarah had put into becoming a Doula, and how much time she spends keeping on top of her job.
As helpful and valuable as Sarah was to Naomi, it wasn't until the night that our son was born that I realised that Doulas are for Dads too! Sarah spent about 10 hours with us during our home birth. That's impressive for anybody, but she was pregnant too!
There was a lot of pressure on me to be a perfect partner and supporter for Naomi. Quite frankly, I fully expected to choke. But Sarah was a great support for me as well. Everything that I learned in prenatal classes was quickly forgotten as soon as Naomi said 'it's time!' But Sarah was calm and calming, and reminded us of everything that we had learned. She was a source of strength for the both of us.
By the end of the night I was convinced that what Sarah had done for us was worth far more than we had paid. As long as Sarah is a Doula she will be at all of our children's births.
